Playa Blanca
Recently becoming more and more developed, this resort lies at the southwestern tip of the Island and boasts a little town set back just a few meters from the beach. From the small sandy beach of Playa Blanca you will enjoy glorious views of Fuertuventura. Boat trips are available to visit the neighbouring Island.

Whilst Playa Blanca itself is 'an up and coming' resort, it only has one small beach set in picturesque surroundings. However, from here you are only a short drive away from the superb and uncrowded beaches of Papagayo. A word of warning though - the roads to nearby Papagayo are largely unmade and so expect little more than dirt tracks. However, once in situ, you will be very glad you made the extra effort to visit this superb beach, as the area is quite stunning.

Puerto del Carmen
Puerto del Carmen is probably the liveliest major resort on the Island. Around 6 miles/10km from the airport, this resort has bars, shopping centres, restaurants, discos and hotels in abundance. Still keeping to the Island rules of César Manrique, the accommodation offered is low-level in white, with green, blue or natural woodwork. Puerto del Carmen is considered to be one of the major resorts for tourism in the whole of the Canary Islands, although it offers a far calmer experience to that of its counterparts in neighbouring Islands.

Stretching for 5-miles/8km,the wonderful beaches of Puerto del Carmen are superb and made of fine golden sand. As this is the major resort on the Island for tourism the beaches can become crowded in high season.
