El Golfo

El Golfo is set partially in the lip of a volcanic crater and partially submerged in the sea. This deep emerald green lagoon is a natural wonder showing a stunning contrast of black beach, deep green lagoon and volcanic cliff.

8-miles/12 km northwest of Yaiza and on the western edge of Timanfaya National Park, the impact of the lagoon is an incredible sight. This precious colour is entirely due to the effects of the algae in the water - the effect is really quite stunning.
